Liberal Klansmen

Brother Volpe called a spade a spade when he spoke out against the Conservative Klan last week. There was a picture of two Conservative MP's holding a Libranos poster and laughing - Brother Volpe called them "Klansmen", but it turns out he was mistaken - no True Brother would glorify Italian humor!

"The Klan looks like it's still very much alive," Volpe said Tuesday.

"I think these are a couple of fine, upstanding members of the new Conservative Klan," he added.

The poster was circulated in the Western Standard magazine.

Volpe's remarks prompted Tory MP Rahim Jaffer to demand Volpe quit -- something Prime Minister Paul Martin shot down.

"The remarks on both sides of this issue were intemperate and unfortunate," said Martin.

Volpe admitted he may have lost his temper but stopped short of apologizing.
